Dr. Brad Hedrick Discusses Exercise and Spinal Cord Injury
Dr. Hedrick is Director of the Division of Disability Resources and Education Services (DRES) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He has 31 years of professional experience in the field of rehabilitation, and extensive hands-on expertise in the administration
of adapted sports and recreation for persons with disabilities. He has coached athletes with disabilities at the local, national, and international levels in addition to authoring a wide array of articles, books, and research on this subject.
As part of the continued focus on knowledge and prevention of secondary conditions associated with SCI, Dr. Hedrick will discuss the many benefits of exercise for persons with SCI. The webcast will be moderated by ILRU Director and Professor of the University of Texas Medical Branch, Lex Frieden. Join us to learn more about the types of pain associated with SCI, the role of exercise in pain prevention, and other valuable means of reducing or eliminating pain.
